Your room is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. To welcome you personally, our check-in desk is staffed until 5:30 PM. Planning to arrive later? No problem! Please contact our reception team in good time by phone or email so that we can prepare your late arrival (e.g. via a key box). On the day of departure, we ask you to vacate the room by 10:30 AM for cleaning.
We do not have classic hotel balconies – and for good reason! You will not find narrow, enclosed hotel corridors here. Instead, you step directly outside from every room onto our spacious, green resort grounds or onto our charming wooden gallery. This way, you can breathe in the fresh Spreewald air with your first step outside and enjoy being close to nature.
Yes, absolutely! You can board the boat in comfort directly from our private jetty at the hotel. Discover the picturesque waterways around Burg-Kauper and the Hochwald away from the main tourist crowds. Our tip for direct bookings: If you book your stay directly through our website, we guarantee you priority seats on our popular boat trips – so you can enjoy your excursion without waiting. Paddle boats are also available for hire directly from us.
Parking spaces are available directly at the resort as well as in our reserved parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (fee: €2 per night). This makes your arrival straightforward and you can reach your car at any time via short paths.
Yes, we support your environmentally friendly arrival. Convenient e-charging stations are available directly at the hotel. To ensure a safe and smooth charging process, we kindly ask you to briefly coordinate the charging with our team during reception opening hours (daily until 5:30 PM) – we will then be happy to activate the station for you.
Yes, with pleasure! You can park your bicycles safely in our secure inner courtyard. For e-bikes, we also offer a free charging station there – so your bikes are fully charged and ready for exciting tours of discovery through the Spreewald the next morning.
Sauna use is not included in the overnight rate. For a fee of €15 per person, you can visit our sauna flexibly during opening hours (daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM). This wellness package includes a cozy bathrobe for hire, sauna towels, and refreshing soft drinks. Would you like exclusive privacy? On request, we will be happy to arrange private use of our wellness area for you (prices on request; we do not offer hourly rentals).
Yes, we highly recommend it! As our courtyard restaurant with its fresh Spreewald cuisine is very popular with both hotel guests and visitors from the region, tables fill up quickly. We do not offer classic half-board so that you can enjoy flexible à la carte dining. You can easily book a table directly with a single click during your online booking process.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our standard double rooms and in the small one-room apartments with prior registration (fee on request). As we do not allow pets in the suites and large apartments for the protection of allergy sufferers, and only offer a limited number of dog-friendly rooms, we ask you to contact us before booking.
Yes! We provide firewood for all of our cozy fireplace suites directly upon arrival. So nothing stands in the way of a romantic evening by a crackling fire. If you need a top-up during your stay, our reception team will be happy to help.
For train arrivals, we recommend the stations Vetschau, Raddusch or Cottbus Hauptbahnhof. From there, bus connections run to Burg-Dorf. Please note, however, that buses run very infrequently on weekends and public holidays, and the bus stop is about 1 km from our hotel. For a relaxed arrival with luggage, we therefore recommend reserving a local taxi in advance if you are not traveling by car. Our hotel name goes back to an ancient Sorbian-Wendish legend of the Spreewald: the wuźowy kral (Snake King), who is considered a protective household deity. By the way, you don't have to worry about real, dangerous snakes here. With a bit of luck, you will at most see a harmless grass snake or slow worm slithering through the grass – they are shy, beneficial creatures and a sign of our intact nature.
